Animal Sciences
Intro
Animal Sciences provides students with hands-on training to develop the skills needed to work as support staff in veterinary clinics, shelters, or other animal-based institutions. Skilled and experienced instructors with unique animal sciences backgrounds provide real-world training in relevant topics such as animal restraint, nursing care, radiology, lab procedures, blood collection, IV catheterization, dental cleanings, vaccines, physical exams, and client services. Students will also train on front office procedures. This program supports the 91Porn's mission to deliver competency-based, employer-guided career and hands-on technical education to the Bear River region.
Objectives
- Graduates will safely and successfully restrain and work with a variety of small and large animals.
- Graduates will demonstrate proficiency in nursing care, laboratory procedures, dental cleanings,
IV catheterization, vaccinations, and physical exams.
- Graduates will perform routine lab procedures, including blood collection, fecals, and infection
control.
- Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of veterinary terminology and pharmacology in
communication with faculty, veterinarians, and other veterinary staff.

Complete the Certificate-Seeking Application below. College admission policy requires a student to have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent (e.g. GED).

Programmatic Requirements
Students will receive additional pre-enrollment programmatic requirements, if applicable, via email. If you have not received this email within 24 business hours, please check your spam or junk mail folders.
WorkKeys Assessment: Workplace Documents (Level 5), Graphic Literacy (Level 5), and Applied Math (Level 5). Also, fractions/percents and ratios/proportions (80%).Ìý
This program includes a CPR fee and a non-refundable $50 background check fee. Students must be 18 years or older to enroll in the adult program.Ìý

Enrollment/Registration
Once the programmatic requirements have been completed, the next step is to meet with a Student Services Representative to complete your enrollment. You will declare your starting date, enrolled hours, and set up your payment schedule.
The first month's payment or completed Financial Aid is required at the time of enrollment. No appointment is necessary. If you have any questions, Student Services can be reached at 435-753-6780 orÌýstudentservices@btech.edu or you can visit us in person at the Logan Campus!Ìý

The Process
Apply for FAFSA at and BTECH school code: 014257.
BTECH receives student FAFSA records.
Financial Aid will send an email to students to create a VerifyMyFafsa Account.
The student creates an account and submits the required documentation.
Students will complete enrollment with BTECH.
Financial Aid will email the student a link to schedule a required Financial Aid Offer meeting.
Pell Grant is disbursed.

The Process
Apply for scholarships at /scholarships (soft deadline (5th of each month).
BTECH emails a link to schedule a Scholarship Interview.
Interview with the Scholarship Committee (generally 3rd Tuesday of each month).
BTECH evaluates the interview rubric and available funds.
Notified of award results within 4 weeks.
The student will receive a link to schedule a meeting to accept the award.
BTECH disburses scholarships.
